The café strikes the perfect balance between being family-friendly and a relaxing retreat for adults.

As for the menu, the selection is crafted with love and attention to detail. Customers rave about the empanadas and arepas, newly added favorites that bring a touch of Latin flavor to the café. Veggie lovers will delight in the crispy panini, filled with a balanced mix of fresh vegetables and served on perfectly toasted bread. For a taste of home, Fran's pomodoro pasta has quickly become a kids' favorite, while the indulgent Guinness cake and chocolate cake are must-tries for dessert enthusiasts. Patrons also appreciate the array of pastries, including a unique matcha cookie that offers a delightful twist on traditional treats.

Paul Dillon describes it perfectly: "A gem of a place in the heart of Blackheath village with excellent coffees and a superb range of pastries and food.”

However, like any beloved spot, Arts Kitchen has areas for improvement, particularly noted in the limited gluten-free options available. Amazing atmosphere, great coffee and delicious treats! Super family friendly and the sandpit makes it even better. Fran's pomodoro pasta is my kids favourite. The gem of Blackheath

March 2025: It has been on my list for a while. The vibe is amazing. Very cozy and friendly for families. There is an area outside for kids to play. We tried the veg panini which was delicious. Crispy bread with balanced veggies. Love it Coffee however was disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed the time spent.

Super friendly owners with great coffee and delicious food options. My favourites/recommendations: empanadas, arepas (recently added), cheese toasty, tortilla with garlic bread, Guinness cake (but I haven't seen it for a while), banana bread, chocolate cake.

A gem of a place in the heart of Blackheath village with excellent coffees and superb range of pastries and food. If you like coffee this is the place in Blackheath for you. Wonderful family run business which makes such a difference compared to the usual chains. Highly recommend.

Dog friendly and family friendly cafe with nice food, friendly staff and sand pit for kids to play! I had a very tasty mortadella Bologna panini. Staffs are amazing, even serve water to Soba. Will come back and try other options out.

Such a cute little gem ! They serve delicious coffees , have a variety of super delicious pastries, cookies (just try the matcha , coconut and jam one!) and soft drinks. They also have sand pits outside for kids to play. Plenty of space, buggy parking space and indoor they neighbour an art studio. This is my new fav place in Blackheath ! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon and great hospitality !

A nice cafe within a very nice building. It is popular with mums and kids so it can get quite chaotic sometimes. It is a shame that they have very limited gluten free options. One Gluten-free banana cake was on offer. It was a shame that they only serve teas in take away cups even when you drink in the cafe

One of the very few authentic, high-quality, family-run cafes left in Blackheath. The Arts Cafe is an absolute gem in the area. The tortilla, toasties, pasta, pastries, and coffee are all excellent. We love visiting on a weekly basis. It's very family-friendly, with outdoor/indoor seating, games, books, and sandpits for kids. As well, they have a nice selection of wines and beers for an early aperitivo. Thanks, Fran and Anna, for bringing good food to the area and bringing the community together in your space.
